As a Nutrition expert with over 10-years of international experience working in the areas of maternal health and child nutrition, Alice has lead planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of nutrition education, community development, supplementation, and food fortification programs. While working with UNICEF Tanzania, UNICEF New York, TICH-Kisumu, SOFEPADI, and Burnaby Family Life, Alice has mastered the linkages between food and nutrition to enhance people’s health, growth and development, and quality of life. Currently, Alice is focusing on quality improvement at Golden Life Management (GLM) to ensure the corporation continues to be the leading Seniors Housing Care, and Services in the region. Alice’s constant learning and application of innovative food and nutrition services has helped her to increase resident’s satisfaction to over 80%. Hence, food, as one of the marketing elements GLM uses, has become the most important factor for residents to move into GLM homes. Alice is looking for more opportunities to make impacts in Global health and nutrition, as well as development.
Alice holds a Ph.D. in Home Economics and Nutritional Sciences and Master of Science in Nutritional Sciences from the University of Giessen, Germany. She also holds a Post-Graduate Degree in Complementary Studies in Food Science from Ghent University, Belgium and a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Kent State University, United States. Alice completed her Dietetic Practicum at the University of Ryerson, Canada, and she is a Full Registered Dietitian registered with the College of Dietitians of British Columbia, Canada.
